Salamanca, Spain - Perahigos

We stumbled across these incredible wines by pure luck rather than design, although we have been intrigued by the 'modern' style of Rufete grapes for a while...Brothers Antonio and Ambrosio Iglesias' 29 Ha estate is located in the heart of the Sierra de Salamanca D.O.P, in the village of Miranda del Castañar. Founded in 2015, all the vineyards are organic and low-yielding, some are more than 100 years old, between 400 to 800m above sea level. The sandy soils coming from the surrounding granitic rock provide the wines with elegance and a long aftertaste, meanwhile clay soils coming from slate provide structure and minerality. We absolutely love them!!!
